  • Free Ride Day Celebrated on LR/NLR River Rail
    Reported by: KARK 4 News

    Saturday, Nov 7, 2009 @09:10am CST

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Central Arkansas Transit Authority’s River Rail trolley system, today is a “free ride” day.

Some entertainment will take place along the routes.

Local magician Derrick Rose will entertain trolley riders at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce stop (northeast corner of Markham and Scott Streets).

Parkview High School mimes will interact with trolley riders at the River Market stop (southwest corner of President Clinton Ave. and Commerce St.)

KLAL’s Ugly Ed Johnson will do a radio remote from the Verizon Arena stop (on the east side of Main Street in North Little Rock between Washington and Broadway Streets)

More than 680,000 people have ridden the River Rail since it opened in 2004.
