Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @07:20pm CST At this point, it's hard to imagine a quick resolution to the fight for healthcare reform. And right now, one of A group of petitioners from the Perry County Tea Party spent some time in front of Senator Lincoln’s These petitioners say health care mandates are too close to socialism and their message to Senator Blanche Lincoln was listen to us or lose your senate seat. But the fact that she's drawn the ire of both parties doesn't seem to bother senator She says it isn't the extremists who get the job done.. It's the people who really scrutinize what's in front of them. "We want to be totally free to make choices for ourselves and what's best for our families and not government bureaucrats that are unelected and unaccountable to us -- making our health care choices,” says Tea Party Organizer Mary Bentley. "Well, usually when you're getting it from both sides, it means you're trying to do something right. The most important thing is that we do need to get healthcare reform and I believe very strongly we can improve and expand healthcare in this country, we can reform it without putting taxpayers at further risk,” Lincoln says. And up in the northwest corner of the state, democratic protestors backed by moveon.org showed at Senator Lincoln's office. In recent past, move on dot org has threatened to put money behind primary opponents for any democratic senator who joins in the filibuster of the healthcare reform bill. |
