With the U.S. in a slow motion recovery, federal reserve policymakers are expected to keep interest rates near zero when they meet today and tomorrow.

The Fed has said the nation's economic recovery will be slow, which means the nation's central bank isn't likely to touch interest rates until at least mid-2010.

Last week's government report showing the economy grew by three-point-five-percent in the third quarter was mainly attributed to government stimulus programs.
