Researchers have developed a new test that requires only a small sample of breast cells to get a result.

By measuring estrogen levels, experts can determine a woman's breast cancer risk, and which therapies would work best to treat it.

The test works by using a microchip to remove contaminants and produce a pure estrogen sample.

The study was small, but experts say it could be the start of a new era in hormone screening.
