  • Arkansas Home Sales Rising Again?
    Reported by: KARK 4 News

    Thursday, Sep 10, 2009 @10:55am CDT

The latest figures for home sales in Arkansas are very encouraging for three of the state's top five counties.

Pulaski, Washington and Saline counties all registered a double-digit boost last month.

Pulaski County reported 16.67-percent more homes sold in July 2009 over July 2008. Washington County had even better numbers with a 19.28-percent change over the two time periods, and Saline County logged a 15.87-percent improvement.

Statewide figures were also up but only marginally at 1.58-percent. Yearly totals statewide are still lower over 2008 with 13,786 homes sold by July 2009, compared to 15,529 by July 2008, a decline of 11.22-percent.

In the state's other top markets, Garland County and Benton County both saw fewer home sales in July compared to last year. Garland County's numbers were down 22.94-percent and Benton County registered 3.85-percent fewer home sales over July 2008.
