Reported by: KARK 4 News Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009 @11:15am CDT It's just over two months and counting until this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Little Rock.
Breast cancer survivors, volunteers, and community leaders gathered at War Memorial Stadium this morning to reveal more about the race schedule. KARK 4 is a proud sponsor of the annual race that raises awareness about breast cancer. Race day will start bright and early at 6:00 a.m. when packet pick-up begins in the downtown parking lot between 4th and Arch Streets. A survivor breakfast follows at 6:30 at the Metropolitan National Bank Plaza. Race festivities begin at 7:00 a.m. at 4th & Broadway and the race begins one hour later with the Verizon Wireless/KARK Women's 5K Run/Walk at 2nd & Broadway. Last year's race drew nearly 46,000 participants and another 2,900 took part in the Three Miles of Men part of the event.
