A group says the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has been too generous in granting alcohol permits in dry counties and against opposition from local officials.

The group, called the Dry County Coalition, is pushing for a meeting with Governor Mike Beebe and wants changes made in the membership of the board.

A coalition representative says the approval of a liquor permit for a bed-and-breakfast in Heber Springs prompted the group to organize.

Heber Springs is in Cleburne County, which is dry.
