and, it all has to do with UAMS -- right here in central Arkansas.
UAMS scientists expect to start clinical trials this spring on a new vaccine they hope will prevent the recurrence of breast cancer. It's designed to trick the body into doing something it wouldn't naturally do -- produce antibodies that fight breast cancer cells. After skin cancer, breast cancer's the most common form of cancer in women, according to the centers for disease control and prevention. To read more about how the vaccine works, click here . |
