Reported by: KARK 4 News Tuesday, May 12, 2009 @08:15am CDT All bets are off for a casino authorities say was operating illegally in Parkin (Cross County).
Three different law enforcement agencies in the state worked together on the casino bust, arresting more than two dozen people, most of them elderly women. It happened on Friday at the Play Time Arcade, where police say they found an undisclosed amount of cash and several slot machines inside. Police closed W. Parkin St. for nearly two hours while rolling out the slot machines. Police say more arrests are expected as the investigation continues. Parkin's mayor says he believes the economic slump and gambling addiction are reasons why people broke the law. |
