Make no mistake, the year is 2009, but with the events going on today, one might think it's 1773.

With all the talk of big government, bailouts and massive deficits, so-called "tea party" protests will be taking place across the U.S. today.

There are two in Arkansas. One is at the State Capitol at 3:45 p.m. and another is in Conway at Simon Park at 5:00 p.m.

The national organizer of the events says the movement really began picking up steam during the administration of George W. Bush when citizens became uncomfortable with billion-dollar bailouts of big companies.

The tea party protest harken back to when colonists dumped tea into Boston Harbor to protest treatment by the British in the 18th century.
