Reported by: KARK 4 News Tuesday, Apr 7, 2009 @08:00am CDT Hundreds of Arkansans are expected to take advantage of free emergency dental care available today in Benton.
Benton Dental Associates is hosting the event to give back to the community. But it's not just today. Care will be provided from 8 AM to noon once a month on pre-scheduled days at the Benton Dental Associates office located at 437 Highway 5. Patients will be served on a first come, first serve basis. “Because of tough economic times, Benton Dental Associates would like to do our part to care for those in pain who cannot afford dental care,” said Dr. Bethel. “Arkansas is second to the last in number of dentist serving the population per capita in the US, and access to care is a real issue. There are several charitable organizations that provide free dental care to the needy in our area, and I have enjoyed working with them, but I felt the need to increase our level of giving. Continuing to contribute to the community alongside the other providers with free emergency care will help those in financial and physical need of dental assistance.” Today is the first day of free emergency dental care. The service will include Medicaid, ARKids A and ARKids B participants. For a schedule of the days free dentistry will be provided and a list of included procedures please call Benton Dental Associates at (501) 794-4646. |
