According to the Josephson Institute's ethics report card, 30% of high schoolers say they've stolen from a store in the past year. 64% of high schoolers say they cheated on a test in the past year. At Episcopal Collegiate, students rely on an honor council to educate and penalize students about violations like cheating and stealing. Students here say the honor council sets a high standard, and because of that, they don't have a lot of problems. "You can take everything away from somebody. You can take away their possessions or whatever and they'll still have their honor and if you can maintain your honor, then you'll always have something you can take with you and it's something that will be respected by others,” Reid Knabe. The irony is this new study might not be accurate. That’s because 26% of high schoolers surveyed say they lied on at least one question. |
