Reported by: KARK 4 News Friday, Sep 19, 2008 @11:00am CDT A Watson Chapel elementary school teacher appears in court Friday morning accused of sexual assault involving five students.
Police arrested 44 year old Robert Michael Gatlin of Rison late Thursday afternoon. Police say he inappropriately touched five 9 and 10 year old girls who were students in his class during this year's spring and fall semesters. Gatlin was fired from his last job in Kingsland for kissing students. The assistant superintendent for Watson Chapel says they ran a background check. He says nothing came back negative. He also says they called Gatlin's references, nothing was mentioned with them either. Gatlin is being held on a $10 thousand dollar bond. |
