The drug, VX-770 has resulted in significant improvement in lung function after two weeks of use.
Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that produces abnormally thick mucus that clogs the lungs and other organs.
Researchers are now working to establish the quickest way to move forward toward eventual approval for the drug.
