Efforts to free the West Memphis Three from jail have been intensifying
lately.
Last week we told you about a Little Rock
film screening connected to their 1993 murder case, and about the letter
writing campaign fronted by the father of Damien Echols, one of the men
convicted.
Now, a West Memphis Three Freedom Rally will be held on the steps
of the state capitol on Wednesday.
Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks, as well as several
national media outlets are scheduled to attend the protest.
Letters and petitions will be delivered to endorse the innocence
of Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley.
Just this year, new forensic evidence has been discovered
that some believe exonerates the three in the 14 year old murders of three
young boys.
