Cold Laser Therapy (also known as the Low Level Laser
Therapy or LLLT) has been successfully used around the world for over 30
years.
Cold Laser Therapy, using laser light energy, has been
proven to penetrate tissue and to be absorbed at a cellular level. A series of
photochemical reactions occur resulting in enhanced tissue healing, pain control
and stimulation of the vascular, immune and lymphatic systems. It is the only
therapeutic modality with a cumulative effect in the cells and tissue.
In the United States, the FDA has ruled that the therapy is safe. The laser
used in our office is a Microlight 830® FDA-certified laser. It
is one of the most fascinating healing advances used today.
Cold Laser Therapy is used to treat Carpal Tunnel and
various other injuries. It is also used in the treatment of:
- Repetitive stress injuries
- Joint injuries
- Soft tissue injuries
- Acute and chronic, operative and post-operative pain
- Back pain
- Leg pain
- Tendonitis/Tennis elbow
- Arthritis
- TMJ
- Neuralgia
- Sports injuries
