Reported by: KARK 4 News Sunday, Nov 15, 2009 @05:30pm CST About 20 volunteers gathered at Little Rock's Crump Park for a special clean-up on Sunday.
Back in 2005, Swaggerty Creek underwent a large scale environmental restoration. Crump Park was part of that, but this afternoon clean-up organizers decided it was time for a follow up. "That's basically what our organization stands for it's learning, teaching, networking all about green initiatives and how to better protect our environment and our state for that part," says Chris Haynes with the Arkansas Earth Day Foundation. Even though cleaning up was the mission, there was some incentive to participate. Food and drinks for everyone who helped out. |
