Reported by: KARK 4 News Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @08:15pm CST U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln had a 30 minute sit down with President Obama Tuesday with Arkansas constituents in mind. Senator Lincoln says it was a meeting she requested and called it a good conversation about health care reform. Lincoln
has major misgivings about government funded, government run
health care, something she conveyed today to the chief executive. "We've got to begin to look at what our costs are," says Lincoln, "and the possibility of what they could be from a public plan is something that must be scrutinized and I intend to do that, and I told him that." Senator Lincoln says she's committed to reform but wants to inspire coverage and competition in the marketplace, not put Arkansans and the Treasury at risk by creating more government. |
