    Winter Weather

With this latest round of winter weather, how do you feel about the snow we've been getting?
I don't like it at all.
It's nice, but I'm ready for Spring.
I love it! Bring on more snow!

  • Arkansas Getting H1N1 Vaccine Everyday
Reported by: Melissa Simas, KARK 4 News

    Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @04:05pm CST

The images of Arkansans waiting in line for hours last week to get their flu shots reminds us of how serious this flu season is turning out to be.

Many Arkansans still want to know when more of the H1N1 vaccine will become available to them.

Since August, 15 Arkansans, including some children have died from the swine flu. It's for that reason, children and pregnant women remain the state's top priority.

The Health Department says they've done about 500 school clinics across the state, and they're only half way through with them.

As for mass flu clinics, like the ones that took place last Thursday in every county in the state,  the Health Department anticipates holding two more of those after Thanksgiving.

"We are getting vaccine in everyday and we're feeling more comfortable with how much vaccine we're getting," said Ed Barham with the Arkansas Department of Health. "If we protect kids, we go a long way in protecting the rest of the population, because the kids catch it, and bring it home to everybody else in the family."
