Reported by: Lauren Trager, KARK 4 News Saturday, Oct 31, 2009 @09:13pm CDT Arkansas' Powerball game kicks off tonight at 10:15 p.m.
We’ve had scratch-off tickets in the
state for over a month now. But Powerball is the kind of game that many people
think of when they think of a lottery. You pick a set of five numbers that
are drawn on white balls and one number on the red Powerball and if you match
them all, you could win millions of dollars. It’s a multi-state game meaning pay
outs are much, much higher than scratch-off tickets. Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue says that’s why they expect a lot of people to pay Powerball--the fun of fantasizing about being a millionaire. "Really
what they're doing when you buy a chance and you only need one dollar to get in
the drawing when you buy that chance, guess what you have a shot at it, so
that's why we market it as a dollar for a dream," Passailaigue said. KARK will exclusively air the drawings at 9:59 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Click here to learn more about how to play Powerball |
