    Winter Weather

With this latest round of winter weather, how do you feel about the snow we've been getting?
I don't like it at all.
It's nice, but I'm ready for Spring.
I love it! Bring on more snow!

  • Teenager Rescued from Tree in Faulkner County
    Reported by: Melissa Simas

    Friday, Oct 30, 2009 @04:11pm CDT

A cell phone and close to 50 rescuers come to the aid of a teenager, who was caught in rising flood waters Thursday night in Faulkner County. The boy, whose name is not being released, made it out safely.

Thursday night, the 19 year old called the Faulkner County Rescue Squad with his cell phone, around 11:30 p.m., saying his car was being washed away. He was traveling on Beryl Road in the town of Otto, and because of the water, his car was pushed into an embankment.

When rescuers arrived with a flat bottom boat, they too found themselves in trouble, and got swept away. Another crew came in to rescue the boy, and those on the boat.

"The victim would have been about 150 yards down right at that tree right down there. He was hanging onto a tree yes. He had started on top of his car and got swept off of his car and got onto a tree, said Bradley Knapp with the Faulkner County Rescue Squad."

The entire rescue took about an hour and a half. Luckily no one was injured.
