Reported by: KARK 4 News Friday, Jul 10, 2009 @06:50pm CDT Little Rock Police are looking for a gunman who shot a courier outside a local bank this afternoon.
It happened around 12:45 in the parking lot of the Regions Bank branch at 800 Shackleford Road on the west end of town. Police say Andre Sims, 36, who worked for CTA Couriers was getting out of his car to make a transaction at the bank when a man walked up to him and robbed him. Police say the robber didn't get much. The bank bags likely contained only documents, if anything at all. "The suspect may have thought he was carrying money or something of value but he was wrong," said Lt. Terry Hastings, spokesman for the Little Rock Police Department. After the suspect robbed him, Sims tried to run away, but was shot twice. He was wounded in the chin and back. Sims managed to make it up the steps to the bank where he collapsed. Police say he's expected to survive after undergoing surgery. Employees from the bank and the courier service are trying to find out what, if any, sensitive material was inside the bags Sims was carrying. Police say the suspect is a black man, about 25 years old, who was wearing a black hat and black shirt and is driving a 4 door dark blue Dodge Neon. If you have any information about the robbery, call 911. ![]() ![]() |
