A report by the National Center for Health Statistics claims more women in the U.S. are having children out of wedlock.
The study, titled "Changing Patterns of Nonmarital Childbearing in the United States," indicates four out of every ten babies born in the U.S. in 2007 were born to unwed mothers. Overall the number of children born out of wedlock climbed 26-percent from 2002. The study also found that teenagers no longer accounted for the majority of unwed mothers. Instead, 60-percent of the unmarried moms were in their 20s. |
