After the Feb 5, 2008 Tornado, I flew over the tornado trac and noticed the destruction and timber blow downs on was worse on the steep downhill or northeast hillsides. I thought a tornado would "ramp" over the northeast side of a hill. Is this common?
Yes, conservation of momentum states that when you stretch a tube on a downslope you must increase speed to conserve that momentum. -
