    King Crimson - Red
This review is a step back to the early 70's when King Crimson put out the critically acclaimed record Red. King Crimson's Red was recorded in 1974 and is still light-years ahead of the mundane, cookie-cutter music releases the music industry is grinding out these days. Guitarist Robert Fripp, bass player and vocalist John Wetton, and drummer Bill Bruford recorded an album aggressive enough to strip the wallpaper off your living room wall. The instrumental Red displays an intense musical chemistry that shows King Crimson is clearly on a mission to write music that has yet to be heard. Bill Bruford's drum-line for One More Red Nightmare instantly grabs you and never lets go. Robert Fripp's haunting guitar on Fallen Angel is simply sublime. John Wetton's muscular bass playing drives each and every song with excellent note selection and pure power. Starless is an impressive achievement that builds slowly and with tension that ends dynamically with a perfect mix of melody and relentless power. If you are looking for something different, refreshing, and real to add to your music collection, then Red from King Crimson is definitely insanity you're better off having.
