Reported by: Newsroom Solutions Friday, Nov 20, 2009 @01:00pm CST The official word has come straight from Oprah Winfrey herself.
The icon of daytime TV talk announced today that her show will go off the air on September 9th, 2011. That is when "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will conclude its 25th season. As today's show ended, Winfrey became tearful as she told the studio audience and viewers how much their support over the years has meant. As for why she decided to end it, she said, quote, "I love this show enough to know when it's time to say goodbye." The Chicago-based production went into national syndication in 1986 and is the top-rated daytime show in the nation. It's watched by an estimated 42 million viewers a week in the U.S. Click here for more entertainment news. |
