Reported by: Newsroom Solutions Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @07:15am CST Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman has resolved an ongoing legal matter.
The "Shawshank Redemption" star has settled a federal lawsuit filed against him over a 2008 car accident in the Mississippi Delta area. "The Clarion-Ledger" reports that the 71-year-old actor reached an agreement this week with Demaris Meyer. Meyer alleges that Freeman was driving her car when they flipped about five miles from the actor's Charleston, Mississippi home. Both Freeman and Meyer were seriously injured in the incident. Meyer, a Memphis, Tennessee resident, subsequently sued Freeman for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability and property damage. Freeman had denied guilt, asserting that Meyer was partly at fault. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Click here for more entertainment news. |
