Rogers Police Investigate Dozens of Shattered Windows

By: Tyler Thomason, KNWA-TV, Fayetteville

"Just before the weekend we had a huge rash of like 15 windows in one night," explains Keith Foster with the Rogers Police Department.

Bullet holes and boards are blanketing east Rogers, as police try to figure out who's behind the trigger of nearly 20 vandalism cases in less than a week.

"I'm pretty confident in saying they're all related," Foster says.

The weapon of choice is believed to be a BB or pellet gun, aimed at just about anything, from cars and homes, to businesses and schools.

"Seems like they're occurring at night, when people are gone, when no one's there and that's the good thing," Foster says.

The owner of a gas station on Monte Ne Road says his store was targeted twice: once on Feb. 15 and again on Feb. 20.

He was left with a door-less entry and a $3,000 dollar repair bill.

Across town on 46th, the manager of a shoe store saw a similar scene when she arrived for her shift last Friday morning.

"There was 10 windows that were shot at," says Nicole Spencer, assistant manager of The Shoe Dept. in the Scottsdale Shopping Center.

"They were completely shattered, and that was what I had noticed as soon as I had drove up," she says.

Another incident happened at the Rogers Public Schools Annex building. After one of it's window was shattered, the suspects took it a step further, stealing six computers worth more than $6,000.

"We're following up on as many leads as we possibly have," Foster says. "You know, you always have eyewitnesses, there's always cameras in the area somewhere, so we have video from different cameras."

Authorities hope to hit their bullseye by capturing any criminals responsible.

"It's kind of alarming that someone is just shooting through the windows," Spencer adds.
