HOT SPRINGS, AR - An armed and dangerous man in Hot Springs was taken into custody Thursday night after a 7 hour search.

Police say Estell stole a truck from an Athletic Club earlier in the day, leading them on a chase across Hot Springs on Central Avenue. Police say Estell was involved in multiple accidents before wrecking the truck north of MLK. After the wreck, Estell took off on foot through the woods.

Members of the Hot Springs Police Department, Garland County Sheriff's Office, and the Arkansas State Police surrounded the area, focusing their search on an area east of Central Avenue between Columbia Hills Street and TV Hill.

Derrick Estell was found alone inside an apartment on Columbia Hills Street and was arrested without incident.
