Over 90 undergraduate students from 14 Arkansas universities and colleges covered the second floor of the state capitol on Wednesday with posters highlighting their research.

The 62 posters feature work from areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

It's the second year for the event that aims for a greater understanding of research.

"These opportunities to do this kind of work, and this isn't regular work, this is cutting-edge science in many cases, these opportunities are available all over the state," says Patrick Desrochers with UCA Chemistry.

Another goal of the event was to attract more Arkansas high school students into the STEM fields in college.
