Police are even expecting to double the number of warrants served this month compared to normal months.

Those who are taking advantage of the amnesty program, like Kathleen Tucker, tell KARK they're thankful Russellville Police are letting them wipe their slate clean.

"Instead of going to jail I was able to go to an officer and speak to him like I'm talking to you," said Tucker. "And he gave me a court date and when I go to that court date I can set up a payment plan or whatever the judge sees fit to pay that off."

Officers said often people are skeptical about the amnesty but they want to reassure people there's no catch.
