Drop-off Sites for Storm Debris Open in Little Rock

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: January 22, 2013
Two drop-off sites opened today in Little Rock to help residents who want to remove debris from the Christmas snowstorm from their property.

Citizens can load up any trees and limbs that fell and leave them at the following locations:

Interstate Park (off of Arch Street, south of Roosevelt Road. This drop-off is in a parking lot in the interior of the park).

Reservoir Park (off of Cantrell Road, east of Reservoir Road. This drop-off is in a parking area near the baseball field).

These collection sites will be open to take storm debris only from Little Rock residents. Each site will have an on-site city worker who can answer questions. Residents should look for signs in each park directing them to the drop-off location.

The sites will remain open Monday-Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until they are no longer needed.

Meanwhile, city crews continue to work diligently to pick up storm debris curbside and will not stop until it has all been collected.

If a FEMA declaration is signed, the city will be able to hire contractors to help with the storm debris collection. It is estimated that the total haul of debris that was created by the Christmas storm will be 22-thousand tons. So far, more than three-thousand tons have been taken to the landfill.
