Fire Damages Cedar Ridge High School in Newark

A fire has damaged Cedar Ridge High School in Newark (Independence County).

Officials with the Newark Fire Department tell KARK 4 News that the blaze broke out around 3:30 this morning close to the computer lab and was contained to that one area.

The fire prompted school district officials to close all three campuses for the day.

The high school building sustained smoke and soot damage.

The cause is under investigation and a damage total is not yet known.
