Memphis Police Investigating Shooting Near Hamilton High School

One person was shot near Hamilton High School Tuesday evening.
Memphis police responded to reports of shots fired near the school at East Person Avenue and Pillow Street just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
An 18-year-old male victim was found with a gunshot wound and was transported to the MED in critical condition. The victim's identity has not been released, but a spokesperson for Memphis City Schools stated he was not a student.
Investigators say they know the suspect's identity, but he is not yet in custody. He was last seen running northbound on Pillow Street.
The shooting occurred during an event at Hamilton High School, but did not happen on school property.
