Last week's snow storm is still impacting families across Central Arkansas. The power is back on, cities are starting to focus on debris removal, but some people returned home to learn their pets were missing.

Now community members are coming together to help return lost dogs and cats to their owners.

"This is one of my daughters playing with him," Robin Young said, pointing to a picture of her dog Grizz Lee.

"I was thinking maybe because of the cold weather someone took him in," she said.

She last saw the 5 month old Lab mix December 27th, fenced in at her Maumelle Heights home. Two days after her family lost power and finally left their freezing home to stay with a friend.

"We came back the next day to check on them and them make sure their bedding stayed and he was gone," Young said.

The family hasn't seen any sign of Grizz Lee since, but thousands have viewed his photo online alongside Duke, Rummy and other missing pets on Arkansas Lost and Found Pet Network's Facebook page.

"It's important for us to get him back he's like our baby," said Young.

Administrators say they've seen a spike in missing pets since the storm, adding that some may have left when trees knocked down their fences.

Owners of a missing cat put up signs around their Heights neighborhood, fearing Jessie may have lost her scent and her bearings, in the snow.

"It breaks my heart it does, it makes me sad. It encourages me when people find them," said Young.

Like others, reunited with their pets through the page, Young hopes she's next to update her post from lost to found.

The Facebook page for Arkansas lost and found network is run solely by volunteers.
