Arkansas River Trail Website Launched

A website has launched for the Arkansas River Trail (ART).
Featuring trail news, activities, information on points of interest, a plan your trip section, interactive maps, user info, and events, the website will serve as a comprehensive resource for residents as well as visitors who are traveling on the ART.
Another key feature of the website is that users who access the site with a smart phone while on the trail will be able to identify their current location on the map and find restrooms, parking and trail access points, bike repair and fix-it stations, and other essential stops. Additionally, users of the website may print out PDF versions of the River Trail and Grand River Trail Grand Loop maps prior to taking their excursion.
The website also serves as a way to collect and share information about public events on and around the trail. Organizations are encouraged to send information to Metroplan to be listed. To submit an event for the site, users may send information via email (click here).
The Arkansas River Trail website is a joint effort of the City of Little Rock, City of North Little Rock, and Pulaski County, who have shared funding for the project. Jennifer Barbee, Inc. (JB, Inc.), a Dallas marketing firm, won the request for proposals last April. The site will house up-to-date news and events related to trail closings and organized events on and around the trail.
Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Pulaski County were originators of the Arkansas River Trail, starting with the first sections on the North Little Rock side in 1993. Through 2011, these three local governments have combined over $62 million in federal, state, local and private investment in the Arkansas River Trail, and the investments keep coming.
In 2012, the Arkansas River Trail became the Arkansas River Trail System, as the cities of Maumelle, Mayflower, Conway, and Bigelow, Faulkner County, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Arkansas Parks and Tourism, and the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly manage and promote the trail westward through Faulkner and Perry Counties. Metroplan, the council of local governments for Central Arkansas, facilitates all activities on behalf of the above signers.
Metroplan is the federally designated metropolitan planning organization for the four-county region of Faulkner, Lonoke, Pulaski and Saline counties. It is a voluntary association of local governments that has operated since 1955.

What a [censored] website. Navigation doesn't work, photo's are horrible quality. Overall colors are repulsive. How much did "we" pay for this? At least over-pay locally for Aristotle and get something not repulsive.
