Update: Red Cross Closes Two Snow Shelters

The Red Cross says its closing snow shelters at Summit Arena in Hot Springs as well as the North Little Rock Community Center.

The follow locations are open for persons in need of a warm place to stay overnight until power is restored after the Christmas Day snowstorm:
Dunbar Community Center, 16th & Chester, Little Rock
Summit Arena, 134 Convention Blvd, Hot Springs
North Little Rock Community Center, 2700 Willow Street, North Little Rock
Jacksonville Community Center, #5 Municipal Drive, Jacksonville
Poyen Assembly of God Church, 104 S. Ash St, Poyen (Grant County)
The Bishop Park Community Center in Bryant has closed. Residents still in need of shelter in the Bryant area are invited to the Northside Church of Christ, 917 N East Street, Benton
For your comfort, please bring the following items with you to the shelter:
Any prescription or emergency medications you need, as well as medical supplies (diabetic, asthma, etc.)
Any special foods for special dietary needs; special snacks
Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, contact solution, etc.)
Supply of diapers, baby formula
Quiet play things for children. Don't forget something for you too such as magazines or books.
Headphones/ear buds for games, phones, etc.
Remember extra batteries, phone cords.
Pillows and if the kids have special blankets or comfort items
Identification and contact list you may need
Warming stations are open at the following location, for individuals looking for a place to get out of the cold. These are not for persons wanting a place to sleep overnight.
Southwest Little Rock Community Center, 10:00am-6pm until January 1st
