Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Counties West and North of Little Rock

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that goes into effect at 7 p.m. this evening and continues through 3 a.m. Saturday.

The advisory (highlighted in purple) is in effect for counties to the west and north of Little Rock. Mena, Russellville, Searcy, and Conway are included in the advisory.

NWS meteorologists say light rain mixed with light freezing rain or sleet will likely transition into snow. Overall accumulations for freezing precipitation will be less than a tenth of an inch. Snow amounts are expected to remain below 1 inch.

Light freezing rain and drizzle will cause hazardous driving conditions. some additional power outages are also possible with even small amounts of ice on already stressed trees from the christmas day ice and heavy snowstorm.
