Restoration work is ongoing across all affected areas of Arkansas, and we expect to make significant progress restoring power to customers in areas where the storm caused less damage to our electrical system. We are monitoring some additional weather currently entering affected areas today which may may hamper efforts. However, there are no delays currently.
The 4,000 extra workers requested to help Entergy Arkansas employees restore electricity are either on site or en route from 15 states to the affected areas. Contributing states include: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
Original Story:
Crews continue to work to bring the lights back on for roughly 130,000 Arkansans still in the dark Friday morning. About 112,000 of those without power are Entergy customers.
Entergy released an updated timeline Thursday evening for power restoration:
Workers hoped to restore power to Pine Bluff, Stuttgart, Lonoke, Marion, Wynne, Morrilton and Forrest City by the end of Thursday. Customers in the Conway, Cabot and Jacksonville areas should expect power fully restored by Friday.
Customers in the Blytheville, Searcy and Augusta/McCrory areas should have power by Saturday.
Entergy Arkansas expects the lights back on by Sunday for customers in and around Benton and Bryant, Carthage, Mt. Ida, Dallas County, Glenwood, Montgomery County and Pike County.
For the hardest hit areas - Little Rock, western Grant County, Hot Springs/Malvern, Clark County and Garland County - restoration could take as long as seven or more days, but most customers will be restored sooner.
