Tips For Dealing With Power Outages

If you can't get to a warming center, here are some tips to help out.

Be sure to wear layers of clothing to keep in body heat. 

Use a food thermometer to check the temperature of your refrigerated food. 

Throw away if the temperature is more than 40 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Water purification systems may not be working --check with local authorities to make sure the water is safe.

If a power line falls on your car while you are in it, stay inside the vehicle.  Call authorities immediately.
