Tim Rollans is looking forward to getting back on his feet full time again.

"I can't do anything," Rollans said from his recliner. A painkiller shot five months ago had done the trick but it wore off and now his knee joints are grinding so bad he can't work in his garden or enjoy walks with his church group.

He's hoping a new set of knee joints will allow him to get his life back.

The 76-year-old Bryant man is scheduled to have knee replacement surgery Saturday, a procedure that is quite common.

What's not-so-common is that the surgery is free of charge.

Three orthopedic surgeons with St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock are slated to perform hip and knee replacements for 18 people who cannot afford or do not have insurance coverage for the procedure.
This is the second year the hospital has provided this service for those in need
