Faulkner Co. Woman Charged with Murder in Husband's Death

On Thursday, 27-year-old Amanda Ewing appeared in Faulkner County Court where she was formally charged in the death of her husband Billy Joe Ewing, who died after being shot and stabbed on March 20.

Clayton Monsees, Amanda Ewing's ex-husband, is also charged with capital murder as the one responsible for shooting and stabbing Billy Joe Ewing.

According to police, Amanda Ewing said she and Monsees needed to get her current husband out of the picture in order for them to renew their relationship.

The charges will have enhancements, including committing a crime in the presence of a child.

Amanda Ewing's three children were in a back bedroom during the shooting.

Ewing pleaded not guilty to the charges.
