Little Rock 6th grader Riley Hoffer is traveling to schools across the country with her eco-friendly message on behalf of CG Kidz, the community outreach arm of bottle maker CynerGreen, a company devoted to kids and green living. On Wednesday afternoon, she'll stop by a New York City elementary school to present green tips and an environmental "club in a box" to 250 kids, launching Harlem's first elementary school environmental club.
"It's amazing how many simple things kids my age can get done if they put their minds to it," said Riley.
She brought her idea for the program to her parents after they started eco-friendly stainless-steel bottle company CynerGreen, LLC.
Danelle Hoffer, VP Brands, CynerGreen, said, "Riley's passionate voice about protecting the environment led her to develop 'Green Tips for Kids' and CG Kidz to encourage children to take action. Her message: 'Recycle, Reduce, Reuse!'"
During Wednesday's NYC visit, Riley will also demonstrate how to make holiday decorations from recycled materials and how kids can make a difference in their homes and schools. Then the Hoffer family will present the school's principal with materials, advice, a small contribution and mentors to get their Environmental Club going. Every child will receive a green gift -- a BPA-free stainless-steel CG Kidz reusable water bottle.
